Course Description

This course provides a practical and comprehensive introduction to Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) within the field of Project Management. It equips learners with the knowledge and hands-on skills to design, plan, implement, and evaluate development or business projects effectively. The course integrates both theoretical frameworks and modern data-driven approaches using digital tools such as Kobo Toolbox, ODK, and Excel.

Participants will learn how to develop Problem Trees, Objective Trees, and Logical Frameworks (LogFrames), design M&E Plans, create data collection tools, and analyze project data for evidence-based decision-making. Through real-world case studies and project simulations, learners will gain the confidence to produce professional M&E reports and communicate results effectively to stakeholders.

Practical Projects and Hands-On Activities

Throughout the course, learners will engage in practical, real-world projects such as:

1. Developing a Complete LogFrame Matrix for a sample Education or Health project.
2. Designing an M&E Plan including indicators, data sources, and targets.
3. Creating XLSForm surveys for Kobo Toolbox and ODK data collection.
4. Cleaning and analyzing M&E data using Excel (Pivot Tables, Charts, Dashboards).
5. Developing an M&E Report (Progress or Evaluation type) aligned with donor formats (e.g., EAQIP).
6. Building an Interactive Dashboard in excel for data visualization and communication.
